David Landsman has worked in different capacities in the money transfer business since 1977, with reknown companies such as Piano and Vigo Remittance, and very soon he specialized in the developing Regulatory and Compliance fields. He has become a leading expert in US Federal BSA/AML - Bank Secrecy Act & Anti-Money Laundering, State's Money Transmitter Regulations, as well as the International Compliance Rules and Regulations.
He became the Executive Director of the NMTA in 2004 where he has made strides in organizing the money transfer industry, promoting the image of licensed money transmitters, and defending the industry's right to prosper as responsible corporate citizens as well as bridging the gap between Banks and Non-Banks. He started the IMTC Conferences in 2006 and organized and promoted the conferences until 2009. In 2010 David partnered with Mohr World Consulting headed by Hugo Cuevas-Mohr, long-time friend and industry colleague, to take the IMTC Conferences to another level and to initiate new conference and seminars, such as IMTC MEXICO, IMTC WEST and IMTC BRASIL.
The NMTA develops compliance training materials for money transmitters and their agents, and coordinates the Council on Information Sharing which helps money transmitters to control ans better manage agent credit risk.
David is frequently invited to international conferences and seminars on current trends in US regulation of MSBs and to conduct engaging seminars on compliance and regulatory issues.
