| Few people know that California is one of the largest MT Markets in the world. More than 16 billion dollars is sent from the state each year, mostly to Mexico, India, China, Guatemala, Vietnam, El Salvador and the Phillipines. | |
| Economists at the World Bank estimate that Money Transfers will grow steadily in the next couple of years, not because there is an increase in migration, but because of the shift in migrant employments, from the depressed housing construction industry to service and manufacturing jobs. World Bank's "Outlook for Remittance Flows 2011-13" estimates that overall remittance flows to all developing countries are expected to grow by about 7 to 9 percent annually through 2013. |
